Study Abroad Health Insurance*

All TAMU system study abroad students are required to be enrolled in a health insurance plan administered by CISI. *Exception is made for students on provider programs in which a comparable insurance plan exists. The Insurance plan includes Emergency Assistance Provider “Assist America” benefits with 24-hour emergency telephone assistance and medical referral service.

Students will receive details about CISI coverage after they have been enrolled in the CISI insurance program. The Office of International Education will enroll students in the CISI insurance program generally a few weeks prior to their program departure.

Students participating on provider programs such as API, CEA, CAPA, CIEE, CIS Abroad, ISA, etc. will need to contact their provider program for more details about your insurance details.
